Douglas Senderoff, MD, FACS completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Emory University and his master’s degree in Human Nutrition, at Columbia University. After he received his medical degree from State University of New York Health Science Center, Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Senderoff trained in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. The NYC Plastic Surgeon completed his residency in plastic surgery and a Microsurgery Research Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. The Manhattan Plastic Surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Senderoff is the author of numerous publications and has presented his research at major plastic surgery conferences around the U.S. Dr. Senderoff has produced several teaching videos to educate plastic surgeons in the techniques he uses for buttock implant surgery, pectoral implant surgery, and advanced liposuction.
Dr. Senderoff has experience with the latest technologies in liposuction including laser and ultrasonic devices. He was one of the first surgeons in New York to offer his patients Vaser ultrasonic liposuction which uses sound waves to selectively target fat cells prior to suctioning. The NYC Plastic Surgeon uses advanced endoscopic techniques to precisely create the pocket when inserting an implant through the axilla for either breast or pectoral augmentation. The NYC Plastic Surgeon participated as a clinical investigator in the McGhan Silicone Implant study. His data along with the data collected by other plastic surgeons was presented to the FDA who ultimately determined that silicone implants are safe to use for breast surgery. The Board Certified NYC Plastic Surgeon also uses endoscopic techniques to correct brow ptosis or sagging. Endoscopic brow lifts can be performed through small incisions in the scalp, avoiding the need for a large forehead scar.
Dr. Senderoff has extensive experience in buttock augmentation using solid silicone implants as well as harvested fat. He has developed a special surgical instrument for buttock implant surgery used by many surgeons which has been proven essential to obtaining excellent results. The NYC Plastic Surgeon is often consulted by other plastic surgeons for his expertise in managing the recovery of buttock implant patients that experience prolonged healing due to complications from surgery. He has used the data from his years of experience with buttock implant patients to educate other surgeons on the safety of the procedure and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Senderoff has extensive experience with the use of facial fillers and toxins including Botox, Dysport, Radiesse, Sculptra, Restylane, and Juvederm to correct the wrinkles and loss of facial volume associated with aging or disease. In addition, Dr. Senderoff is experienced with the use of PRP to aid in the recovery of facial surgery patients.
Dr. Senderoff has incorporated the use of a variety of lasers and light-based devices to enhance the results of surgery. These devices may also be used in place of surgery for patients who do not require surgical procedures. Some of the nonsurgical devices offered include VaserShape for cellulite reduction and IPL and CO2 and Erbium laser treatments for facial rejuvenation and scar reduction.
