Breast Lift
Breast Lift NYC Plastic Surgeon, Douglas Senderoff, MD,
FACS, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has been
performing Breast Lifts or "Mastopexy" plastic surgery for over
a decade.
A Breast Lift or Mastopexy refers to when the NYC Plastic
Surgeon lifts and reshapes the breast. The Manhattan Plastic
Surgeon often combines a Breast Lift with an increase in
breast size (augmentation-mastopexy with saline breast implants
or silicone breast implants) or a reduction in breast size -
breast reduction. The Breast Lift operation involves rearranging
the breast tissue, shifting the nipple position and increasing
the breast firmness by tightening the skin.
Your Breast Lift surgery is an outpatient procedure which is
performed in the Manhattan, New York Plastic Surgeon's
state-of-the-art surgical facility located in NYC on Park Avenue
South. The Breast Lift procedure, as performed by the Manhattan
Plastic Surgeon, takes about two and one-half hours to perform.
You will then spend about an hour in recovery before permitted
to return home. Most women need from three to seven days of rest
at home after undergoing breast lift plastic surgery before
returning to light duty activity. Usually, about a month of
recovery is necessary to feel completely back to normal again.
During the first month, you will need to wear a support bra at
all times, except while in the shower.
Most of the NYC Plastic Surgeon's patients always ask
about scars. Scars are a reality of virtually every surgical
procedure. The scars that result from Breast Lift surgery appear
on the front of the breasts. For very mild breast sag, the only
incision is around the areola (the dark circle surrounding the
nipple). For moderate breast sag, the incision on the breast
will be like a lollipop; that is to say, the NYC Plastic Surgeon
will make the incision around the areola and then straight down
to the breast crease. If you have severe breast sag, the
incision is around the areola, straight down to the breast
crease, and then side to side in the breast crease in a shape
resembling an anchor. Before your breast lift surgery, the Board
Certified Plastic Surgeon, Douglas Senderoff, MD, FACS will
suggest ways you can minimize your post-surgical scarring.
Yes, your scars will most indeed fade and be minimized with
time.
Who are the best candidates for Breast Lift Surgery?
According to the Manhattan Plastic Surgeon, the best
candidates for a Breast Lift are those patients who have breast
volume loss due to:
Aging/gravity
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding
Weight loss
